Biochemistry & Molecular Biology - Curriculum

The course framework for the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology B.S. Degree Program provides a solid foundation in the biological and chemical sciences necessary for advanced study in medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, chemistry and biology, as well as forming the basis for entry-level positions in the pharmaceutical and biotechnical industries. While the degree requirements may satisfy many professional or graduate programs, it is important to consult the admission requirements as early as possible for the particular programs at schools to which the individual is likely to apply. Additional coursework may be taken as electives which may be applicable to postgraduate work.

Students should check the prerequisites for the courses listed. In most cases, the prerequisites have been correctly planned for completion prior to the affected courses. However, if students are unable to complete the plan as it is presented, prerequisites may not be satisfied. Please use the plans alongside the Illinois State University Catalog. Also, please be advised that BMB students must adhere to BSC course requirements concerning prerequisites. BSC policy states that students must have earned a C or better for prerequisite courses.
